Cuisinart EPC-1200PC 6-Quart Electric Pressure Cooker Review

The thing to remember about a pressure cooker is you can only fill it about 50 – 60% full, depending upon what you’re making. So if you’re going to use the pressure cooker then even though it says that it’s a 6-quart, you can really only cook 3 – 4 quarts.

The great thing is, you will still reduce time spent in the kitchen preparing meals with the help of this 6-quart electric pressure cooker – it cuts cooking times up to 70-percent when compared to traditional stove top cooking methods.

This unit’s push button controls and easy to read digital display eliminate guesswork, while its digital thermostat regulates the temperature. You choose from pre-programmed settings for high or low pressure cooking, browning, simmering, sauteing, and warming.

For safety, the cooker must be fully locked for pressure to build, and it will remain locked until the pressure inside drops to zero. Other features include a 99-minute timer with an LED countdown display, cool touch side handles, and a non-stick cooking pot that cleans up easily by hand or in the dishwasher.

About the Brand

The Cuisinart Brand story, “Turning the Art of Great Cooking Into an American Lifestyle”.

Cuisinart has a long-standing history of receiving prestigious design awards for a wide range of items. These include the coveted 2012 Housewares Design Award in the Countertop Food Prep Appliances category for the Blend and Cook Soup Maker; a Platinum MarCom Award and Silver LACP Spotlight Award for the company’s IPad app; and a Gold Hermes Award for outstanding press materials.

Julia Child let people in on the Cuisinart secret and so did James Beard. They were among the first culinary experts to hail the food processor as a revolutionary kitchen appliance when it was introduced to America in 1973 by the late Cuisinart founder, Carl Sontheimer. They saw the food processor as a quick and easy way to make fine food and healthy dishes.

Under management from Conair Corporation since 1989, the legacy is alive and well. Today, Cuisinart is a universally recognized name, endorsed by culinary connoisseurs such as Jacques Pépin and Hubert Keller.

Cuisinart has come a long way since the first food processor. Plugged or unplugged, nobody covers the kitchen like Cuisinart. You can find anything from baking dishes to waffle makers to microwave ovens.

At Cuisinart, helping their customers “savor the good life” is their goal.

Overall

This model has had great reviews and a good price on Amazon (Check it out here). It’s very easy to work and a snap to clean up. Customer reviews report that all of the foods made with this have turned out excellent. Superb browning and saute functions, allowing you to have just one pot to clean at the end. The non-stick coating cleans up easily.

Another plus is the timer function, it can be set to a desired pressure level, set the time and it’s ready. Once it reaches the desired level of pressure it starts to count down, when it is finished it beeps to alert you and then automatically sets itself to keep warm.

It couldn’t be easier. Food really does take 50 – 70% less time to make in a pressure cooker. You can make amazing homemade soups in about 30 minutes.

I believe I have found my next handy kitchen helper and may just even replace a few other appliances I’ve been using.
